Start.ca is currently searching for a dynamic Warehouse Operations Manager responsible to provide strategic direction for all Start.ca warehousing activities associated with receiving, shipping, warehousing and inventory management to- achieve distribution objectives and meet customer requirements related to our telecommunications customer premise equipment and fibre optic network equipment.  The Warehouse Operations Manager will set objectives, goals, strategies, measurements & plans for continuous improvement and creates new and innovative strategies necessary to consistently meet Start.ca customer's expectations while ensuring the highest standards for Safety & Quality are in place. This position will report into the IT Operations Director.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Maintain shipping/receiving, warehousing and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational policies and procedures.
  • Managing, track, update and report inventory.
  • Manage the scheduling, inventory, distribution, budget and warehouse functions including physical counts and segregation of assets.
  • Negotiate and procure the forecasted customer equipment along with the Product Manager.
  • Negotiate and secure the forecasted Fibre optic network equipment ensuring timely delivery to meet the company’s requirements. 
  • Meet regularly with warehouse team to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity, inventory control, space management, logistics and shipping.
  • Establish work practices/standards/instructions/metrics to improve overall performance, ensure inventory accuracy, streamline handling, maximize productivity, and promote efficient material flow and utilization.
  • Work collaboration with other departments /operations teams to support all aspects of the supply chain and logistics.
  • Provide strategic and operational insight as it relates to procurement, logistics and distribution of products.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean warehouse at all times.
  • Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) with various suppliers.
  • Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to resolve shipping/receiving escalations.
  • Create purchase orders and requisitions as needed for all supplies. Establish policies and procedures for inventory management and control.
  • Support company initiatives in delivering an awesome 360 customer experience.

What you should have:

  • 10+ years of experience in a warehouse and inventory control.
  • 5+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a high growth business or telecommunications business would be an asset.
  • Experience implementing or utilizing a warehouse and inventory management system and automation is highly desired.
  • Experience in implementing strategies relating to inventory control, growth in a warehouse and including planning and actioning.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality of work.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time management skills.
  • Able to identify problems, take appropriate action, and implement solutions, or escalate as required.
  • High degree of professionalism, courteousness and friendliness.
