Job Description
The Technology Delivery Lead will participate in all aspects of project delivery, from the perspective of technology owner within the Individual Wealth Technology team at Canada Life. This position demands an excellent knowledge of Wealth business and technology systems, and the ability to lead and work effectively as a member of a larger, multi-disciplinary team.
What you will do
Technology Delivery Leads are responsible for the technology aspects of project delivery. This role involves the following activities:
- Work with business and technology owners, business leads, project managers, other technology leads and subject matter experts to understand WHAT is required, and then own HOW the works gets done
- Facilitate the development of end-to-end solution designs and the identification of impacted applications
- Define technical design (with architecture patterns and input) and scope of the solution with business and technology alignment across all workstreams / projects / application teams within the scope
- Offer forward thinking technology strategy, with an end-to-end solution from a strategic perspective to project execution and ensure it aligns to enterprise solution
- Develop solid technology delivery roadmap, view, and plans in partnership with program and project managers
- Deliver key messages that explain the solution, outline the approach, and defend the options, estimates, and delivery plan
- Articulate business or technology factors/constraints and pre-requisites that need to be considered; identify potential areas of concerns with implications factored into the business case
- Act as first point of contact for technical escalations to the project team, and remove blockers for technical teams to ensure successful delivery
- Escalate (as appropriate) to sponsor leadership team of any risks and issues along with possible options
- Engage and collaborate with governance stakeholders to ensure compliance towards corporate risk profile and organizational governance processes
What you will bring
- Degree/diploma in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- 10+ years technology delivery experience, with the ability to understand and effectively work with various business lines and technology ecosystems
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity, ability to analyze and solve problems
- Strong understanding of how to impact and influence, and the ability to challenge
- Strong communication skills, including communicating with senior leadership, peers, business partners, vendors, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work both individually and as part of a team
The base salary for this position is between $95,300 - $158,800 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation (i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
