Trojan Technologies is looking for an intermediate-level engineer who performs a variety of complex technical tasks, focused on performance verification and system integration of UVC Emitters under the general supervision of a senior engineer.

This position is part of the Innovation & Technology Team located in London, Ontario and will be hybrid.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Conduct comprehensive testing of UVC emitters against established standards and specifications.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues encountered during testing.

  • Support senior engineers with research, design, experiment setup, and development.

  • Regularly inspect and maintain test fixtures, equipment, and laboratory facilities to ensure optimal functionality and safety, and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.

  • Develop and write test specifications, standard operating procedures and test reports.

  • Analyze test data and share conclusions and recommendations with the relevant stakeholders

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.

  • SolidWorks or similar experience.

  • Experience designing, building, and testing prototypes

  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.

  • Good analytical and troubleshooting Skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Optical measurement and design

  • LabVIEW proficiency

  • Mechanical Fixturing

  • Mechanical/Electrical Instrumentation Experience

  • Experience with electrical drawing/ database design/ handling of small electronics / electrostatic discharge (ESD) safe practices

  • Proficiency in scripting languages and macros for numerical simulation (e. g. MATLAB, Python)
