In this role, you will:

  • Provide direction to the Trojan London PLC, Embedded software and Embedded hardware teams engaged in core product and technology development and lifecycle management.
  • Collaborate with Product Planning and Management to establish and deliver on software and embedded roadmaps that support innovation and growth goals at agreed budget and timelines.
  • Work with controls and sizing experts across Trojan to ensure product control strategies and validation equations are properly documented, implemented and verified.
  • Lead by example in terms of gaining and leveraging customer insight and experience to drive value for customers, including leveraging customer defect tracking and resolution (CDTR) process.
  • Ensure robust software and hardware development processes that continuously improved to achieve quality and delivery with clear visibility of progress against milestone goals.
  • Develop and manage technical relationships with key outsource vendors and partners, in collaboration with strategic sourcing and comply chain.
  • Build and develop the team ensuring technical development opportunities, high level of engagement and professional development.

Are you qualified? The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field of Engineering or technology
  • 10+ years of experience as both a contributor and as a leader in industrial or embedded software and/or hardware
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels – ability to present highly complex, technical, or difficult messages clearly and persuasively.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing software and embedded hardware solutions.
  • Strong portfolio management skills with demonstrated success.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize clearly and manage finite resource pool.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Development and communication of software and embedded roadmap that meets short-term product needs and long-term vision.
  • Passion for evaluating new technology and industry standards to provide organization with competitive advantage in the market.
  • Establishment, tracking and reporting on KPIs relevant to team scope and mandate that link to corporate KPIs and goals, and through effective DM and PSP drive progress and continuous improvement.
  • Providing timely clear communication to stakeholders and leadership including recommendations for investment, risk mitigation to drive innovation and return on investment.
  • Participation in CDTR and lead/support resolution as required to maintain quality and support customers.
