PowerCo Canada Inc. is seeking a Manager, Governance and Committees. This role will be instrumental in shaping and executing the local PowerCo Canada company strategy, ensuring governance excellence, and managing critical committee functions. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, process optimization, and exceptional communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will collaborate with international teams, manage committee coordination, and foster stakeholder relationships to support investment decisions and strategic goals during the company’s ramp-up and beyond.

This is a temporary flex hybrid model requiring 2 days in the St. Thomas office, subject to change based on the needs and nature of this project. During certain phases of the build, a full-time onsite presence may be a requirement.
About the Role
- Plant Governance: Oversee plant governance and lead strategy implementation efforts for PowerCo Canada to ensure alignment with the company’s long-term vision and corporate standards.
- Strategic Initiative Execution: Ensure the successful implementation of cross-functional strategic initiatives essential for the ramp-up phase of PowerCo Canada.
- Committee Preparation and Coordination: Steer and prepare all necessary group committee meetings for investment approvals, ensuring they are conducted on time to meet project timelines.
- Collaboration Strategy Development: Initiate, steer, and implement cooperation strategies with local companies, supporting the development of business cases for new supplier partnerships.
- Incentive Program Management: Lead and manage incentive programs and commitments with local, provincial, and federal governments, ensuring PowerCo’s obligations are met and tracking the progress of external commitments.
- Process Implementation and Compliance: Drive the implementation of processes within the Operations area to achieve IATF certification, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or a related field
- 10+ years’ experience in strategic governance, committee coordination, or a senior leadership role in an industrial or corporate environment, preferably in the battery or automotive sectors.
- 3+ years leading teams and managing direct reports
What you bring to the Team
- Strong leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills, with a track record of driving cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence.
- Proven ability to oversee strategic implementation and drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong skills in project management, committee preparation, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience in managing incentive programs and government relations.
- Familiarity with process implementation to meet industry standards such as IATF certification.
- Ability to travel both within Canada/US and internationally up to ~ 10%
