The Sponsor Billing & Finance Squad within Workplace Solutions Application Delivery is looking for an IT Business Systems Analyst, which is a key role between various departments within the Workplace Solutions business units, in support of delivering and sustaining capabilities for the portfolio. The role will also work closely with vendors as well as business partners in the Sponsor Services and Finance business areas.
What will you be doing?
The IT Business Systems Analyst will be responsible for leading the analysis of business problems and developing requirements, product specifications, contribute to solutioning discussions and translate business needs and features into developer-consumable functional and non-functional requirements as an input to design, development and testing exercises associated with application development, support, or configuration.
The successful candidate will develop a strong and deep understanding of Workplace Solutions needs and how systems support the core business unit mission.
This role involves the following activities:
Portfolio Requirements, Design & Scoping
Guides and facilitates the analysis for less complex products
Elicits and validates business requirements
Facilitates and actively participates in meetings, walkthroughs and reviews of deliverables
Develops functional requirements
Develops and delivers training & support materials for affected stakeholders
Problem Solving & Analysis
Performs analysis to determine impacts to products
Validates requirements and proposed solutions to stakeholder’s satisfaction and translates those processes, needs and requirements into related artifacts and documentation
Troubleshoots moderate to complex problems to determine root-cause, requiring analysis and exploration of options, recommending solutions or preparing discussion for escalation
Communicates with business stakeholders on technical components, risks, issues
Ability to understand data requirements, standards, controls, modeling techniques
Develops and validates solution design, product configuration, or package criteria with business stakeholders Quality
Quality Assurance
Ensures overall testing efforts represent business and systems requirements in partnership with the QA team (where applicable)
Develops and maintains test documentation, test strategy, review and supports testing outcomes as required
Partners with developers and other team members to resolve defects, considering data and privacy requirements
Develops and executes test cases, confirming test cases represent business requirements
Ensures traceability of requirements across application lifecycle
Manages moderate complexity acceptance criteria
Continual Improvement
Gains exposure to and learns new technologies, frameworks and tools
Evaluates and learns new analysis strategies, tools and methods that provide business value
Improves current practices and tools
Adapts to organizational change, best practice and improvements across teams, including the effective implementation and adherence to analysis processes and practices and architectural directions
Participates in audits, governance and support activities
Customer focus
Takes accountability for own and towards team deliverables
Trains newer analysts in how to gather requirements and solve problems effectively
Partners with product teams and/or architects to develop technical requirements and engineering/non-functional specifications 6. Technical Leadership
Technical Leadership
Provides training to new or less senior professionals or cross discipline practitioners on processes, tools and approaches
Shares knowledge and experience with members of the team to identify and share opportunities to improve the work, identify better ways of doing things
This role also involves these additional specific activities:
Implement enhancements to existing software including solution design, work breakdown and estimation, deploying the changes and warranty support
Able to organize work tasks and coordinate with other team members
Verbal and written communication required with other team members
Trouble shoot application problems, then document and maintain an inventory of expertise for identified problems
Handle multiple priorities when required
Provide feedback into our software development best practices
Occasional after hours and weekend work will be required
What will you be using?

Vue.js, React, VS Code, VB6, VBA, C++, C#/.Net/.Net Core, Python, HTML and Modern JavaScript
z/OS mainframe environment: DB2, IMS DB, IMS/TM or CICS, PLI, COBOL, JCL
Web Services & APIs
Oracle, MS SQL, DB2
Git and branching strategies like GitLab
Data analysis using SSMS, IBM Data Studio, SPUFI, Python, DataBricks on Azure, and writing complex queries & stored procedures
Atlassian Jira & Confluence, Splunk, ServiceNow
Changeman, Compuware tools, CA tools, File-Aid and Abend-Aid tools
O365 suite of applications (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, PowerBI)
AWS and Azure nice to have
What do you bring to the table?
5+ years of relevant experience as a Business Systems Analyst or the equivalent in experience plus education
University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Active pursuit of related industry certifications is considered an asset
Experience working as part of DevOps team, in an Agile environment and with third party developers, vendors, and consultants.
Experience in domain-based data modeling, information and data modelling, event definition and data mapping, and inter-system data mapping.
Experience in API, integration, and event-based product development, working in an Agile product development team
Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence and Microsoft Office tools.

Adaptable to changing assignments and product outcomes

The base salary for this position is between $58,600.00 - $107,500.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
