About the Role:
Hive Media Group is seeking a sharp, ambitious Data and Revenue Analyst to join our team who must be investigative and analytical by nature. This role will centralize and streamline critical revenue and expense tracking, invoicing, partner setup, and month-end financial processes.
As a Data and Revenue Analyst, you're an independent, self motivated individual that has a passion for solving puzzles, compiling and analyzing financial data. Extremely detailed-oriented and organized with a habit of checking and double-checking any work before submitting it for review. You're an analytical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills who is able to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information quickly and accurately. You will also need to collaborate cross-functionally across the organization with teams to execute their vision.

Responsibilities:

Setup Revenue and Buying partners, maintain reference tables and coordinate with internal team members to integrate APIs into correct reporting databases and data workflows

Retrieve data and reports for revenue, spend and costs, take snapshots, update and maintain spreadsheets

Validate and reconcile data between financial database tables, platforms, for revenue and cost reporting accuracy

Query databases for API-reported revenue data, cross-check for discrepancies, and ensure accuracy
-
Review partnership agreements to calculate placement breakdowns and revenue shares, clawbacks, and profit shares.

Aggregate and verify month-end spending data across partners
-
Prepare and manage invoices and payments for vendors, partners and contractors to ensure timely invoicing and payments including reconciliation to avoid disruptions. Track and follow up on outstanding A/R collections

Oversee month-end media spend: Collect data, query databases, apply refunds, discounts incentives as required.

Flag discrepancies, investigate and coordinate fixes with developers or resolve as needed.

Work cross functionally to provide forecasting, data modeling, predictive analysis, create dashboarding and reporting, and A/B testing insights and strategies

Investigate root causes for issues/anomalies and provide creative yet logical solutions for solving data and/or business intelligence problems

Research industry trends and identify new process improvement opportunities
Requirements:

2+ years experience in data or financial analytics, preferably in a digital publisher setting

Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Finance or related field

Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, data validation)

Strong proficiency in SQL

Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc)

Experience with financial databases, and data reconciliation

Flexible, startup mindset, and ability to operate within a very dynamic, fast-paced work environment

Strong communicator, both written & verbal with the ability to communicate results to both technical, and non technical stakeholders

Preferred - Familiarity with digital advertising revenue and expense tracking

Highly detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
