What You’ll Do

As our Director of Health and Safety you will be responsible for overseeing our health and safety offering, ensuring that it provides excellent services and support to our clients. You will champion our vision and values to ensure our service operates efficiently and effectively, aligned to departmental and company objectives. Our Director of Health and Safety will identify training needs and develop team members to ensure they have the required commercial, technical, product, and client care skills, with the ability to always deliver our services.

As our Director of Health and Safety you will:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support and drive the development of required health and safety resources, practices, and processes to enable commercial growth of HRdownloads’ health and safety programs.
• As the health and safety offering expands, establish and grow a competent, dedicated team of health and safety professionals to deliver HRdownloads’ health and safety products and services.
• Champion our vision and values to ensure our service operates efficiently and effectively, aligned to departmental and company objectives.
• Identify training needs and develop team members to ensure they have the required commercial, technical, product and client care skills, with the ability to always deliver our services.
• Actively promote and manage continuous improvement for our health and safety service standard.
• Promote and oversee product and service development, including content, testing, and evaluation.
• Handle client enquiries and issues, assess any corrective action required, and coach team members in client care.
• Create and sustain a positive team environment through communication, motivation, and team spirit.

Requirements

About You

You are a health and safety professional who:

• Has 3-5 years of proven experience in a leadership role in health and safety.
• Has successfully completed a bachelor’s degree or diploma in business, human resource management, health and safety, or a related field.
• Has experience managing teams and providing coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
• Possesses strong communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
• Has excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
• Possesses a strong understanding of Canadian health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Is creative, innovative, and forward-thinking.
• Has demonstrated deadline management and work management skills, and the ability to remain flexible when faced with changing deadlines and requirements.
