Information Technology Services

The Technology Consultant leads projects related to infrastructure and/or clinical systems operations, support and change management.  Having a breadth of experience in the IT industry, the consultant provides guidance to Business Systems and Technical Analysts as new technologies are evaluated and implemented.  The Technology Consultant surveys the IT (and where appropriate, clinical) market(s) to help evaluate products that may enhance the environment.  The Technology Consultant may play a role in the support of critical clinical or corporate systems.

Qualifications

 

As the ideal candidate, you have:

  • Three (3) year College Diploma in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience acceptable to hospital
  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in a technology discipline including project management and systems support
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the hospital environment with health care data and insight into legislation and mandated activities
  • Ability to provide after hours and on-call coverage
  • Experience configuring and managing Microsoft based software including Internet Information Services (IIS), SQL Server
  • Experience with Microsoft SCCM
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and group policies
  • Experience with vulnerability and patch management processes, procedures and technologies
  • Experience with integrating Microsoft technology with security related technologies such as SIEM and vulnerability management
  • Experience with change management principles and the ability to engage and involve stakeholders
  • Experience with capacity planning, risk mitigation strategies and information security principles
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance multiple and competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal, written and listening skills, including technical documentation experience
  • Commitment to superior customer service
  • Works well under pressure
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centred care
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

Immunization Requirements

Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to: 

  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis; 
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step); 
  • Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health’s current definition of being fully vaccinated
