StarTech.com is currently looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to join our People & Culture team.

Reporting to the Director, People & Culture, the Talent Acquisition Manager will act as a strategic partner to the business while developing and driving innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent. While acting as a talent advisor, the Talent Acquisition Manager will partner with Hiring Managers across all lines of business and functional departments at StarTech.com while conducting full cycle recruitment. The Talent Acquisition Manager will develop strategies and execute best practices to attract, identify, select, and present top talent and will manage the full recruitment cycle from intake to offer.

The People & Culture department at StarTech.com is a dynamic team made up of business professionals in Total Rewards, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources Business Partners, and Office Management. The Talent Acquisition Manager will work collaboratively with the People & Culture team while participating in ongoing projects and playing an active role in executing StarTech.com’s employee value proposition, positioning us as an employer of choice.

What will you be doing?

  • You will support all lines of business and functional departments by partnering with hiring managers to provide proactive and collaborative support through the recruitment lifecycle.
  • You will create talent pipelines through various channels such as LinkedIn, networking events, social media, employee referrals, and job postings with the goal of reducing the time-to-fill and creating employer brand awareness.
  • While ensuring a positive experience for all candidates, you will manage the full recruitment cycle for requisitions across the business. This will include drafting job postings, posting jobs, sourcing candidates, conducting phone screens, presenting quality candidates to Hiring Managers, scheduling and facilitating interviews, and negotiating job offers.  
  • You will take all steps to ensure that candidate slates are diverse and reflect the communities that StarTech.com serves and in which we operate, and ensure that the selection process is fair, equitable, and devoid of any bias by keeping hiring managers focused on job skills and competencies.
  • You will build an ongoing understanding of our industry and local/international markets to ensure StarTech.com is a front runner in the market for talent. This will include building an understanding of the labour market, hiring trends, and talent metrics.
  • You will develop sourcing strategies for positions at various levels of the organization including student roles, entry level, and professional/senior level roles.
  • You will work closely with other members of the People & Culture team on ongoing projects, continuous improvement, and employer branding efforts.

What can you bring to the table?

  • Minimum 5 years of full-cycle corporate or agency Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of Hiring Manager coaching and advisory experience.
  • Proven experience sourcing candidates in challenging and/or global markets is an asset.
  • A strong understanding of local legislation and recruitment best practices and the ability to research and determine global legislation and best practices for international hiring.
  • Experience developing recruitment and sourcing strategies using a variety of channels such as networking events, social media, niche job boards, LinkedIn, etc.
  • The ability to clearly communicate with candidates in writing and verbally over the phone, video-conferencing, and in person.
