Shopfloor Quality Specialist (Problem Solving) is responsible for fulfilling the quality management system requirements, monitoring and achieving the quality targets of the production unit, and working on internal / external quality problems with cross functional teams. This role reports to Plant Quality Lead and includes all quality relevant activities such as problem solving activities, Six sigma studies. You will be responsible to define and implement the right measures to solve problems and avoid repeat failure. In this role you will be a part of the PowerCo Global Expert Group to transfer your knowledge in the globally lesson learned, failure catalogue and FMEA.
This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the company quality management system requirements are met.
- Coordinating cross-functional teams for problem solving in operations for internal and external (customer complaints/returns) quality problems.
- Monitor departmental KPIs and conduct problem solving meetings.
- Provide problem solving training for employees.
- Assisting the Company’s problem-solving activities and respond to externally and internally generated non-conformances. This includes the disposition of suspected material, analyzing non-conformances, investigating root causes and initiating team meetings to implement corrective actions and to prevent non-conformances.
- Supporting the production unit in defining and implementing corrective & preventive actions and ensuring effectiveness CAPA.
- Supporting/Coordinating quality workshops for problem solving tasks.
- Supporting problems Q-Ramp up in Gigafactories.
- Supporting the necessary preparations within the production unit for customer and internal/external quality audits and the definition and implementation of actions.
- Supporting continuous improvement activities for quality and following up the action plans created in order to achieve the targets.
- Participate in continuous improvement/Lessons learned projects and support product launches.
- Participating PFMEA studies and reviews and supporting implementation of changes.
What you bring to the Team
- Education: University degree with technical background.
- Knowledge in automotive or battery industry.
- Knowledge in IATF 16949, VDA, Customer Specific Requirements and Automotive Quality Core Tools (PPAP, MSA, APQP, SPC, FMEA).
- Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies and problem solving tools (Ishikawa, 5Whys, Shainin).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, and proficiency in specific software tools used in quality management.
- Proficiency in effectively communicating with personnel at all levels within a manufacturing plant.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills, with meticulous attention to detail. Advanced knowledge of corrective actions and root cause analysis.
- Proactive and driven, adept at working autonomously while consistently adhering to industry-leading standards and methodologies, with a proactive approach to quality control and assurance.
- Travel requirement (international or domestic): 15-30% - global ramp up of the different factories.
- Soft skills/technical skills: Fluent in English, Problem-Solving, Planning and Coordination Skills, Decision Making, Conflict Management, Communication, Team Work.
