We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our dynamic team of project delivery professionals within the Information Security and Technology Risk portfolio of our Technology department. Our team delivers solutions that mature the Company’s risk and security capabilities, drive adoption of security services and manage the technology risk limits while enabling our business partners to better service our customers and to put the customer at the centre of everything we do.

In this role, you will be a strong collaborator that works closely with project team members, business partners and technical experts. You will use your strong analysis and critical thinking skills to understand the business needs, to elicit, document, and communicate solution requirements, and to manage these requirements through to implementation. In addition to requirements, you will elicit and document processes that help the organization understand the impacts of implementing technology solutions. You will be part of an analyst community that strives to collectively improve its capabilities, supporting one another so that we deliver the best quality and highly valued products to our stakeholders.

What you will do:

  • Lead and facilitate stakeholder meetings, walkthroughs, workshops and reviews of deliverables.

  • Manage business requirement dependencies within and across projects or products.

  • Identify and document current state business and system processes and work with process owners to build the proposed future state by identifying process gaps, process improvement opportunities, and impacts due to technology implementations, while assessing impacts to other business processes, stakeholders and systems.

  • Manage the requirements through the project lifecycle, ensuring that requirements are validated, verified and approved, and ensure the implemented solution meets the business needs through requirements traceability.

  • Develop collaborative partnerships and provide leadership across a variety of stakeholder groups, ensuring that information collected from multiple sources is critically evaluated, conflicts are resolved, information is clearly communicated at the appropriate level of detail, and requests are distinguished from the underlying business needs with the goal of driving to consensus.

  • Contribute to other project implementation activities and deliverables, including process and system design, testing, organizational change management, user training, technical support documentation, risk management, assessing organizational readiness and business impact analysis, implementation roll-out and project closeout.

  • Contribute to and actively promote the development, review and implementation of new technologies, methods, improvements, practices and tools through learning, evaluating and adapting industry standards, methodologies and best practices that provide business value and demonstrate practice maturity.

  • Provide ongoing mentoring, support and direction to team members for requirements management, needs analysis and presentation of deliverables.

  • Work with fellow colleagues to develop better ways of working and implement best practices to improve analyst service delivery to stakeholder groups.

What you will bring:

  • Experience working on Information Security or Technology Risk projects is a must-have asset. These may include projects focused on delivery of solutions related to Technology Risk Management, Information Security, Identity Governance & Administration, and Privilege Access Management.

  • 5-10 years’ experience as a business process and/or systems analyst documenting the following: process maps and workflow diagrams, business requirements, gap analysis (current-state vs future-state analysis), use cases, user stories, business rules, scenario analysis, functional requirements, non-functional requirements.

  • University or College education in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Commerce, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint platforms.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly critical thinking, with a strong attention to detail.

  • Customer centric approach to problem solving with the ability to collaborate, resolve conflicts, and reach consensus with others.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of how the business uses technology to meet business goals and strategies.

  • Ability to apply deep understanding of the business areas and the impact technology has on the customer experience.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills, with the ability to translate complex technical subject matter in business terms for executive audiences, succinctly and professionally.

  • Ability to lead team members through the decision-making process, while considering the relative cost and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one, working with data to identify patterns, collaborating with others, and use solid judgement to form conclusions that may challenge conventional wisdom.

  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment, facilitating and contributing to work across geographies and across other functional teams

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities under time pressure without compromising quality.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to influence and negotiate win-win outcomes among cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to grasp concepts quickly and to work independently with minimal direction.
