We are looking for a Measurement & Research Business Analyst. This is a 12-month contract located in the London, Ontario office.

 

This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will be required to be in the London office 2 days per week, with a remote option for other days.

 

Role description 

The Measurement and Research team is responsible for development and execution of brand and customer experience measurement programs as well as decision-support research spanning multiple lines of business within Canada Life. The insights generated from this team are used to guide strategic and tactical improvements to Lifeco products, processes, and customer service experiences. This role will support the Manager, Data and Research Operations within the Measurement & Research team, in sourcing high quality data, and facilitating and monitoring data transfers to ensure the smooth operation of continuous and ad-hoc research programs.

 

What you will do 

  • Creating and maintaining documentation of core Measurement & Research team processes
  • Assisting with sourcing data, defining requirements, and facilitating data transfer and transformation for measurement and research projects requiring systems data
  • Facilitating and/or completing quality assurance and user acceptance testing on new system data extracts and data feeds
  • Monitoring ongoing measurement programs, proactively identifying any errors/issues, and facilitating timely resolution
  • Completing ad-hoc data analysis requests to support team decision making regarding (e.g., data sources, and requirements) 

What you will bring 

  • Post-secondary degree in business analysis, project management, or business operations management
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in business process analysis and documentation
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in technical requirements gathering and documentation working with internal or external customers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., tables, pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning & transformation)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project (e.g., for time tracking, resource allocation, and project chargebacks)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong process documentation skills
  • Strong time and task management skills; ability to multi-task
  • Basic knowledge of the Canadian insurance and investments industry (particularly business-sponsored plans)
  • Basic knowledge of corporate IT infrastructure
  • A proactive approach toward problem-solving and learning
  • Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical resources
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Query and/or Power BI would be a strong asset
