Technical Assembler

Responsible for assembly, testing and decommissioning and/or destruction of video capture kits, tools and laboratory supplies and study specific components in a manner that meets company and regulatory standards for accuracy, safety, security, quality, and productivity.

Assembly and Quality Testing

 
  • Following detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures, assemble laptop and all associated components for a Video Capture Kit. Load software and test for correct operation and image transmission in accordance with SOP's and Work Instructions.
  • Gather and assemble study specific materials and install software. Test for correct operation and image transmission in accordance with SOP's, Work Instructions, and study protocol.
  • Perform routine quality testing and troubleshooting in accordance with standard work instructions.
  • Report issues with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to supervisor for further troubleshooting.
  • Complete all administrative functions relating to business or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking adequacy of supplies for current workload, anticipating needed supplies, and report needs to supervisor for follow up.
  • Complete regular kit decommissioning activities which may include the reuse, recycling, or destruction of the product and/or components, and completing required status reports, in accordance with project SOPS, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate assembly functions.
  • Create a safe and healthy working environment for oneself and others by working safely; following instructions given for health and safety purposes; attending and completing all training; and immediately reporting any unsafe working practices or hazardous work conditions in accordance with all application internal policies and legislation.
     
Inventory Control and Troubleshooting
 
  • In collaboration with the Team Lead, Logistics and Senior Technical Assembler, maintain and monitor inventory, both raw and staged, ensure adequate stock on hand, initiating orders as required and performing scheduled inventory checks and preparing inventory reports.
  • Plan, and organize storage areas appropriately to ensure ease of accessibility of all items for Logistics staff.
  • Perform periodic quality control checks on raw materials and assembled equipment ensuring kits are packed correctly, include all items on pick list and that items are in working order.
  • Monitor and report on product testing of new, used or defective equipment, to determine trending.
  • Partner with Team Lead, Logistics and Senior Technical Assembler to coordinate and manage routine inventory monitoring and reports to Manager, Logistics and Finance
     
Facilities and Staff Support
 
  • Sign vendors into and out of the building as required.
  • Other facilities related tasks as required.
     
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of relative experience with a post-secondary certificate / diploma (College, Training Institute, etc.) preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer setup and components an asset.
  • Experience with using an ERP for inventory management/purchasing/receiving an asset.
     
$41,000 - $68,000 a year
