We are hiring an AVP, Optimization and Enablement. This is a hybrid role requiring the successful candidate to be in office 3 days per week.
Given the size and scope of our organization, we have the flexibility for this position to be located in the following head office locations: Toronto, London, Winnipeg.
The AVP Optimization and Enablement will be responsible for delivering on multi-million, multi-year modernization and optimization of process and technology initiatives that will drive material efficiency gains within priority Group Customer lines of business while improving customer and employee experience by re-designing the end-to-end processes for conducting day to day transactions across core parts of the business.
The successful candidate will guide business operational areas on a repeatable approach to transform their work to enable far greater straight through processing, automation, digitization, AI and technology tools, then re-skill and re-align the org structure to address the remaining work which will be significantly transformed, requiring different skills and new ways of working. This requires a mindset of challenging the status quo, reimagining and re-engineering the entire end-to-end journey, the day-to-day processing steps and decisions, the tools business and operations use and the experiences our customers and employees have.
What you will do
- Set a clear vision for the reimagined process decision bringing deep thought leadership on the process and the suite of tools
- Use project and program management skills including task breakdown, prioritization and planning, clarification of ownership, change management and pro-active risk management
- Build consensus with the multiple stakeholders across technology and business areas as well as external stakeholders to execute on a common mission, vision and scope
- Use agile delivery and process redesign best practices to effect change
- Gain a strong understanding of the business and key stakeholders and work closely with end-users to deeply understand current process to implement process redesign
- Identify interdependencies within the project and create awareness & understanding around it
- Understand technology and Agile development
- Challenge the status quo and find new solutions to drive out of the box ideas
- Empower others to fail, learn, and grow
- Have a business and advisor-centric mindset and solve complex problems
- Take accountability to maintain focus and scope that will result in desired outcomes, including: productivity improvements along with driving efficiencies, customer experience and employee experience improvements
What you will bring
- University degree with a specialization in Business, Engineering, Technology and/or at least 10+ years deep experience in owning and delivering business process solutions or transformational change
- Experience within the insurance or investment industry
- Ability to communicate effectively and can simplify technical issues, and provide clear and concise commentary/answers
- Experience as change agent with the ability to drive results and contribute to change processes that improve organizational performance and creates a culture of accountability
- Successfully demonstrated analytical and conceptual knowledge and a highly efficient and structured work method
- Experience working in complex business areas and operating within an agile framework
- Lean six-sigma or process re-engineering experience
- Strategic thinker and compelling leader with a strong vision
- Natural collaborator who is able to create win-win solutions
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to make difficult decisions
- Travel requirement: Up to 25% (within Canada)

The base salary for this position is between $111,000 - $205,500 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
