Senior UX Designer (4+ years)
 

 

About the role:

The senior user experience designer will be responsible for working with stakeholders, gathering requirements, and translating research that forms a core part of Info-Tech's product offerings into informative and supportive visuals.

The role requires familiarity with qualitative research methods including interviewing and usability testing, as we grow our UX research capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a UX designer with 4 or more years of experience, who follows human-centered design principles, has a keen interest in usability and inclusive design, is familiar with UX strategy and has been working in the industry for 4+ years.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clarify abstract or complex diagrams, charts, user flows, wireframes and UI mock-ups, and prototypes.
  • Gather qualitative and quantitative information to create several user journeys.
  • Familiarity with a user-centered design process in an agile environment.
  • An ability to comprehend and then diagram technical concepts.
  • Experience in working with and gathering requirements from stakeholders and end users.

 

We are looking for applicants with:

Planning and Presentation Skills

  • Demonstrate an understanding of how technical constraints, business requirements, and user feedback affects design.
  • Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners.
  • Experience collaborating with teams of Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists and Product Managers throughout the design process.

 

UX Design Expertise

  • Advocate for the end-user.
  • Expertise in creating user flows, and mapping journeys.
  • Excellent understanding of typography, sketching, mapping, and layout.
  • Skill in designing for desktop, mobile, and presentations.
  • Experience in developing effective, accessible, responsive, and inclusive user interfaces (UI).

 

Research Competency

  • Familiarity with the design, setup, and implementation of research projects utilizing various methods including but not limited to interviews, usability studies, contextual inquiry, and surveys.
  • Experience in how qualitative data findings can be applied to enhance the design.
  • Understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
  • Presentation of research findings through written reports and live presentations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in UX design, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related field of study.
  • A portfolio highlighting multiple relevant projects and your direct contributions.
  • 4+ years of experience in user experience design.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to describe problems and detail an approach to solving them.
  • Proficient in typography, design and wireframing tools.
