Our Technology professionals make a significant contribution to the company’s business goals through the effective delivery of value-added services. These services include setting technology direction, project management, analysis, system architecture, software development and the provision of operational support services for our Individual Wealth, Insurance, and Advisory Network Customer business units.
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be responsible for supporting smaller projects and enhancements involving existing processes and functions, or working as a member of a larger project team under the direction of the Lead Business Systems Analyst. The role requires a general understanding of business environments, operations, processes, and practices, as well as IWIS/AN Technology methodologies, tools, and processes. The BSA will focus on detailed phases of the Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC) such as detailed specifications and system analysis, and will require direction and guidance on most tasks.
What you will do
- Apply general understanding of business environments, operations, processes, and practices to work assignments.
- Utilize IWIS/AN Technology methodologies, tools, processes, and practices in data analysis, requirement documentation, and project delivery.
- Gain and apply functional knowledge of client business practices and environments.
- Understand and discuss general IT/IS environments, operations, processes, practices, and trends.
- Identify and analyze solution options, collect relevant information, and use structured approaches to problem-solving.
- Express ideas clearly, ask probing questions, and communicate effectively with peers and limited interaction with business.
- Adapt to change effectively, perform under pressure.
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and apply new knowledge to work assignments.
- Actively work to build the team, support fellow team members, and ensure group objectives are met.
- Influence others through positive interaction, provide leadership on smaller issues, and encourage participation from the business.
- Identify when actions are required and initiate them, educate others, and notify appropriate persons of problems and opportunities.
- Present information in an organized manner, understand other parties' perspectives, and negotiate successful outcomes.
- Develop plans, multitask, and monitor progress toward meeting deadlines.
What you will bring
- Degree in related discipline (Commerce/Management Information Systems, Business Administration, etc.) or equivalent combination of training and experience
- General understanding of business management concepts, IWIS/AN Technology methodologies, and client business environments.
- Proficiency in analysis and problem-solving, communication, adapting to change, continuous learning, teamwork, leadership, initiative, negotiation, and planning.
- Experience in information technology/information systems and functional knowledge in at least one business area.
- Ability to focus on details, apply business knowledge, and function in a testing environment.
- Communicates in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbal, that is appropriate for the audience
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to adapt to change and perform effectively under pressure
- Motivation, enthusiasm, respect, courtesy, and willingness to learn and share knowledge.

The base salary for this position is between $58,600.00 - $107,500.00 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
