What We’re Looking For

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Account Executive with a proven track record of driving revenue by prospecting, qualifying, and closing sales.  The incumbent will have a strong understanding of all phases of the sales cycle and will be responsible for managing and maintaining high client satisfaction levels while promoting the Northern brand.

Full-time remote is available nationally (Canada only). For those close to our office in London, ON, we have flexible office hours based on training and collaboration needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand the unique business goals, needs, and pains of prospects, helping them grow their business with Northern service offerings
  • Pursue potential clients to identify business opportunities within their organization and in their business vertical, delivering and presenting value-based proposals to qualified prospects.
  • Highlight the benefits of Northern’s professional service pillars including eCommerce, CMS and digital marketing solutions. 
  • Meet sales goals and maintain the sales pipeline. 
  • Ensure a seamless handoff from sales to the account management/development team. 
  • Contribute to sales and marketing campaigns to build new opportunities in specific market verticals. 
  • Assist with the planning and execution of Northern’s customer events, either virtually or in person, within our key verticals.
  • Work with prospects through an entire sales cycle, from intro conversations through to contract negotiations
  • Work with other members of the Revenue team to take qualified leads forward through deeper discovery to opportunity creation and closing
  • Identify stakeholders, pressing for key decision makers and controlling the frame of conversations
  • Build strong rapport rapidly and leverage this to advise prospects towards the right Northern solutions
  • Work with Northern’s Solutions and Accounts teams to create customer proposals
  • Deliver proposal presentations to prospective customers
  • Maintain clear notes in Salesforce CRM

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 year college diploma, certification or university degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 
  • 2-3 years experience in sales, preferably in web, technology or in an agency environment.
  • Exceptional business-oriented written and verbal communication skills, speaking publicly and making presentations as needed
  • Ability to analyze sales trends and make adjustments to current sales activities based on these trends.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues and potential referral partners. 
  • Track-record of over-achieving quota/targets
  • CRM experience, Salesforce preferably
  • Outbound calling experience 

Bonus skills! 

  • Previous agency experience
  • Experience selling at the "C" level – CMO is a plus
  • Experience with Google Suite would be an asset
