Data Analyst

We are currently seeking a Data Analyst to join our fast-paced and exciting organization! The successful candidate must possess strong analytical, communication, and technical skills. This person will need to be able to quickly learn the business and technology domain and be able to apply the knowledge. This role’s main objective is to build, optimize, and maintain a solid backend for the Business Intelligence team. This will also involve data quality reviews along with fixes. The Data Analyst will also be involved in building standardized reports to be shared with the broader organization.

Our ideal candidate must possess the business and technical skills/experience prescribed, enjoy working in a highly dynamic, fast-paced, and high-growth environment. This role reports to the Insight and Analytics Manager at Paystone.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining ETL pipelines and data quality processes that track our organization’s KPIs and analytics.
  • Conducting data quality reviews and implementing fixes.
  • Become the data subject matter expert and triage data quality issues, along with developing automated solutions to eliminate manual work.
  • Manage and optimize our analytics database and ensure it meets the standards for reliability, privacy and accuracy.
  • Conduct end to end testing to audit our ETL pipelines and database in order to have optimized processes with accurate outputs.
  • Improve the runtime, accuracy, and efficiency of our reports.
  • Build standardized reports in Power BI.
  • Always on the hunt for new and innovative methods.
  •  

Requirements:

  • 2+ years relevant experience.
  • Background in quantitative field preferred (computer science, engineering, finance, applied-mathematics, or another data-focused field).
  • SQL expert.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI, or Looker.
  • Experience with Amazon Warehouse Services (AWS) preferred. i.e. S3, Glue, Redshift.
  • Experienced in coding in Python (pandas, pyspark, numpy etc.)
  • Experience with Salesforce would be a strong asset for this role.
  • Strong presentation, communication (written and verbal) skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • BONUS: experience in Scikit-learn and ML models will complement some of the work already being done.
