Note: This is a part-time temporary Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week) starting September 3, 2024 and ending December 20, 2024.

The School of Media and Digital Arts is seeking a qualified candidate to teach in the Game – Design 3-year Advanced Diploma program.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary 4-year degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 5 years recent and relevant industry experience
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Proficient in 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, ZBrush, Mudbox and Substance Painter
  • Able to create a variety of original textures for 3D models for game applications including assets, levels and environments
  • Understand texturing basics to an intermediate level for video games, building tileable textures and working with multiple texture map applications and packing maps
  • Able to use various techniques and understand texturing for video games, unwrapping mesh properly and working with base colours, diffuse, ambient, specular, normal maps etc.
  • Use various techniques, relevant software and technologies in application of digital textures for character concepts and game level designs
  • Working knowledge of lighting and rendering for environmental and character display sheets, and game export applications
  • Experience with Modular Environmental Modeling for video games
  • Use various techniques and understand modeling for video games, working with low and high poly, and creating clean mesh for texturing and animation
