Position Overview:
The Digital Marketing & Events Specialist embodies a creative, high-energy approach to digital marketing and event management. Their expertise lies in digital brand and experiential marketing, positioning them as the authority for recommending digital initiatives that bolster Ivey Publishing’s brand and drive revenue, encompassing activities such as web updates, email campaigns, and social media platforms. A proficient multitasker, they excel in fast-paced environments while maintaining a keen eye for detail. Their robust organizational and project management skills enable the successful execution of case workshops, overseeing aspects ranging from budgeting to logistics and event registration to feedback surveys. With strong communication skills, they remain abreast of the latest social media and digital trends, ensuring effective engagement with audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Marketing Activities
- Assist in the strategic planning of marketing activities that will increase revenue for Ivey Publishing with a focus on online activities.
- Implement a comprehensive external facing digital marketing platform strategy that supports the brand position of Ivey Publishing. This includes web sites, external email campaigns and social media accounts.
- Develop and execute a digital marketing content calendar.
- Execute digital marketing activities to promote and support the Workshop portfolio, including event registration, customer feedback surveys and promotional offers.
- Create and deploy the quarterly email newsletter as well as any ad hoc customer email communications.
- Provide monthly dashboard reports in collaboration with Manager, Marketing, describing activities and results of digital marketing activities (web, email, data analytics etc.), including campaign analysis and market insights.
- Review and analyze web, email, and database analytics in-depth.
- Provide regular updates on strategy and results to Ivey Publishing Management and Ivey Faculty, including developing and hosting faculty forums and internal newsletters.
- Identify and develop content for digital use with a variety of stakeholders and partners including distributors, publishers, Ivey Marketing & Communications, and Ivey Business Journal.
- In collaboration with Manager, Marketing, manage online (web and social media) sales and promotional content and accounts.
- Event Management
- Develop and implement the annual plan for open and customer case workshops, including revenue planning, budget management, contracts, communications, and logistics planning and reporting.
- Coordinate all required materials (including digital), location and facilitator contracts, and finance reporting for workshops.
- Manage relationships with all workshop stakeholders, external agencies, and potential customers.
- Work closely with clients and facilitators to ensure all workshop activities, including materials and logistics are well planned.
- Participate in selected workshops to promote Ivey case usage, awareness, and publishing opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Undergraduate university degree: specialization in communications or marketing preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years related digital marketing, communications, and/or customer service experience in a professional corporate setting.

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to think quickly on your feet.
- Track record of success as a team player – while you are comfortable self-managing a diverse workload, you understand the necessity for team collaboration to achieve common goals.
- Creative, with a proven track record of innovation in digital marketing and a strong comprehension of the social landscape, platforms, and best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a high tolerance for ambiguity and comfort with using professional judgement to make recommendations and/or decisions.
- Self-directed individual, with an ability to independently set priorities to achieve objective(s) based on potential revenue opportunities.
- Highly developed interpersonal and client service skills; strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Superior oral and written communications skills, demonstrating professionalism in both presentation and demeanor.
- Demonstrated success in building credibility, managing relationships, and proactively collaborating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Sound project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines/deliverables, budgets, team dynamics and multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a busy environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience with content management systems (e.g., Umbraco, Kibo & WordPress ideal), information architecture, user experience/accessibility and digital media.
- Intermediate computer skills i.e. Microsoft office and database applications.
- The incumbent must be prepared to work additional and sometimes long hours leading up to and during major events.
