Quality Assurance Engineer

OSG is searching for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our development team based in London Ontario.
As our Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of the code and that our products function without errors. You will work collaboratively with our team of developers and various stakeholders to ensure that features function as intended, develop test plans and write automated tests to ensure issues are resolved prior to release.
This is a work from home position with a preference to candidates located in Ontario.
What will you do in this role?
- Create, maintain, and execute test plans and automated tests, and produce detailed documentation of all bugs to be used to replicate and solve issues
- Test changes pre and post-release to ensure accuracy and ensure they meet the requirements & quality of the task
- Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution
- Evaluate product functionality and create test strategies and test cases to assess product quality
- Provide a check and balance for product features by validating and verifying requirements and testing functionality prior to release to ensure a seamless user experience free of bugs
- Work with department stakeholders to ensure feature requirements are met using creativity to provide possible solutions to any foreseen issues
- Recommend and implement improvements to processes, technology, and software to improve testing and quality from the development team
- Participate in the code review process, ensuring developer tests cover all test cases, meet testing standards
- Work closely with internal teams such as Curriculum to test course functionality prior to launch, Customer Specialists / Sales to troubleshoot client reported issues with online products, and Management to provide regular status updates
What can you bring to the table?
- Completion of Post-Secondary education in Computer Science or Software Quality Assurance
- 3+ years of experience in developing testing for web applications
- 3+ years of experience with scripting / programming languages, such as Ruby, Javascript or Apex
- Demonstrated experience in various testing methodologies, standard QA, development tools and coordinating test activities
- Knowledge of Experience in testing API’s and testing with multiple browsers and devices
- Solid and hands-on experience in designing, developing, validating, and maintaining test plans, establishing test infrastructure, test automation
- A mastery of level test case, test script, and test plan development, execution, and automation
- Strong understanding of software integration process & pitfalls, and superior analytical, debugging, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
