Buckland is looking for an IT Support Specialist

 

What you’ll be doing

A successful candidate will have a strong ability to provide proven skills to the IT Operations support team following ITIL/ITSM best practices to identify, resolve issues and deliver improvements. This position requires excellent skills in remote support, onsite support, documentation , presentation and training, collaboration and engage in daily communication (written and oral) with various lines of business and teams. The ability to construct reference material to contribute to the success of the support team and the total Buckland end user IT experience. The IT Support Specialist is tasked with prioritizing and completing service requests and support incidents and to ensure internal and external OLA’s and SLAs are met.

 

You will be responsible for…

  • Field incoming helpdesk requests from end users , provide front line support via ticketing system, phone or in person.
  • Installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of Windows systems.
  • Assist with configuration, installation and maintenance of software, hardware, and telecommunications services such as: computers, software applications, printers, telephones, servers, and general office equipment.
  • Participate in reviewing systems, testing and deploying updates. Follow ITIL/ITSM best practices for incident management, problem management, and continuous service improvement.
  • Taking team and staff needs and improving solutions through planning, design, review and installation tasks.
  • Detailed documentation or actions and creating and updating support documentation with all daily tasks. Creation of process documentation as product support grows.
  • Actively tracking, documentation, management of Buckland IT resources and fulfill tasks under the direction of IT teams to ensure hardware, software and network are available 98+% of time on 24/7 basis, excluding scheduled downtime.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of support services and incident management processes.
  • Participate in on-call afterhours and weekend incident support to meet SLA’s

 

 

What we need from you

  • Proven ability to collaborate, develop and grow not only technology skills throughout your team and peers, but also soft skills such as customer service and professionalism.
  • ITIL Foundations certification, knowledge of ITSM processes, tools, and best practices
  • Virtual server technologies such as VMWare
  • Networking fundamentals or proven networking certification

 

 

What skills & experience you’ll bring to us

  • Cloud Infrastructure, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft 365 and Azure experience, Applied knowledge of PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Exchange online or equivalent cloud-based system.
  • Windows enterprise applications, Active Directory, IIS, file servers, etc. , desktop support for PC environment supporting Windows 10 / 11 and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Networking involving multiple platforms, Cisco/Nortel/HP/Dell/other vendors
  • Past technical on-call experience.
  • Experience in any of the following areas would also be an asset; warehousing, customs brokerage, importing, exporting, logistics, supply chain systems.
  • Experience in providing successful coaching and 1 on 1 training of software or services
  • Self-motivated with prove problem-solving skills while under deadlines and ability to self-organize tasks, communicate clearly and problem solve in a similar role
  • Requirement to be able to travel in CA, US, or MX up to 20% as required
