Reporting to the Manager, OneChart Technical Applications, the Business Systems Analyst provides customer relationship management and direction in key aspects of project management and system integration functional support. Responsibilities include systems design, process and workflow analysis, project and workload oversight and work group delegation for the implementation and operational support of interfaces within the hospital. The Business Systems Analyst also conducts detailed system troubleshooting, tests software patches, upgrades and supports system implementations by liaising with other ITS teams, end users and vendors. 

This position will support Interfaces with Cerner Millennium.

Rate of Pay:                 $39.87 per hour - $49.84 per hour

Hours of Work:             37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of 3 year Diploma or Bachelor's Degree preferred in Computer Science, or health related field, or equivalent education
  • Minimum of five (5) years recent, related experience with HL7 Clinical Interfaces
  • Previous recent and relevant experience with Cerner preferred
  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Recent work experience with IT software development life cycle management and working with cross-functional teams to support medium and large-scale implementations
  • Recent work experience supporting complex hospital interfaces and how they enable staff and departments to be more efficient and effective
  • Demonstrated ability to research and assimilate a large quantity of diverse information
  • Demonstrated proficiency in time management, ability to work effectively under time pressure to meet deadlines, balance work priorities and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Solid understanding of clinical workflow analysis, requirements gathering, documentation, mapping solutions and system design
  • Understanding of technology and how it can be applied in a clinical environment an asset
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing clinical, business and systems process re-design
  • Demonstrated ability to apply analytical skills to requirements gathering, problem identification, solving & solution mapping
  • Demonstrated ability to research and assimilate a large quantity of technical information into practical, solutions
  • Ability to work with leadership at all levels to implement both strategic and operational change
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent change management, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Superior written, oral, presentation, and listening communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under minimal supervision and to work as a team member while providing direction to others
  • Demonstrated experience in being flexible, adaptable and open to change
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities & changing demands that require attention to detail
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:

  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a health review which includes providing vaccination records or proof of immunity against Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella (Chicken Pox). In addition, candidates will need to provide documentation of Tuberculosis Skin testing and a completed COVID vaccine series (two vaccines).
