The Role

Info-Tech Research Group is looking for a talented motion graphics artist to create and deliver animated designs and visuals to elevate brand and product awareness for our website, and video assets, particularly our daily news segment-style videos. In this role, you will assist the Designers, and/or Producers, by employing your design expertise to make social, and video projects come to life. Your responsibilities might include (but are not limited to) animated infographics, gifs, branded animations, opening title sequences for video segments, and animated openings/backgrounds, and packages for video products. 

First and foremost, you’re a creative designer with a flair for bringing sophisticated, eye-catching movement to engage viewers and captivate them with a cohesive brand vision and professional polish.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Take a leading role in the planning and execution of motion graphics assets to support new or existing designs and products, particularly daily video content. 
    You are detail oriented.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively through video and animations to articulate business concepts and goals.
  • Create, adapt, and/or manipulate motion graphics (using After Effects) and other programs to convey appropriate product messaging in a fluid manner for website, social campaigns, and videos.
  • Generate engaging daily content that captures the brand's voice and resonates with the target audience across various platforms.
  • Create supporting video assets including title cards, logo animations, and lower thirds in collaboration with the Design and Video departments. 
  • Follow internal production protocols to ensure compliance with various requirements and reporting methods.
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team that includes other designers, video producers, marketing, social media managers, researchers, and executives.
  • Build captivating content that engages with team members and viewers.

 

Education and Experience 

  • College or university training with a minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in motion graphics creation/visual design.
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines and deliver polished creative.
  • Adept at creating, incorporating, and manipulating motion graphics/animations with stock music to make video elements more compelling and engaging.
  • Proven ability to work cross-team and incorporate feedback from stakeholders while managing workloads effectively. 
  • Ability to author simple storyboards and build creative that can then be adapted for motion, this position requires design acumen beyond simply animating prebuilt graphics.
  • Experience working in an agile, market-driven company is an asset.

 

Skills/Design Chops 

  • Highly proficient in Adobe After Effects, Premiere, Audition, Photoshop, and Illustrator in a Mac environment.
  • A strong foundation in Graphic Design fundamentals, including composition, hierarchy, colour, and typography.
  • Animation and compositing. 
    All facets of motion graphics; creating and manipulating 2D and 3D animations, determining emotion, understanding timing, anticipation, scene stagging and visual appeal.
  • Keen eye for visual detail.
  • Storyboarding experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision at times.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Experience in Cinema4D, Blender, or Maya (nice to have).
