The Information Technology Intern/Co-op is responsible for day to day IT support. This includes but is not limited to level 1 program and plant support, taking calls, assisting end-users and communicating with the service desk. Assist with installation and maintenance of computers, servers, network hardware and software.
Principle Accountabilities
45 % Support plant operations with level 1 hardware and software support; answer end-use calls, and determine support required and assist when appropriate
35 % Assist service desk with assigned incidents and provide technical support to employees using software packages on the network; investigate, identify, and resolve hardware and software problems for PC’s and servers
10 % Assist with installation and maintenance of new computer/network hardware and software; ensure the Altiris inventory system is current and apply information protection standards to PC’s and servers
10 % Assist with special projects, which may include server refresh or web development; install and configure software and hardware
Internship Programming:
- Cargill offers both housing assistance and relocation reimbursement to co-ops who qualify (based on mileage)
- Internships are paid and are at least 16 weeks in duration.
- Day–to-day transportation to and from work is the responsibility of the intern.
- Interns who demonstrate exceptional performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered a full-time position for the following year.

- Plant setting, must be open to interning in either type of setting
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Information Technology from an accredited program graduating between December 2021 and May 2023.
- Advanced knowledge of computer/network hardware and software
- Demonstrated analytical and technical skills
- Ability to relate technical knowledge to job-related duties
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems and make decisions independently
- Strong prioritization and problem solving skills; collaboration skills; verbal and written communication skills; and information research and gathering skills
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in the Canada.
- Able to complete a 4-month co-op (May 2021 – August 2021).
- Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in hardware support
- Experience in client support
- Overall 3.0 GPA or higher
