Join our Team CARFAX as a Wordpress Developer

As a Wordpress Developer you will be a part of the Consumer Experience Development team. The Consumer Experience Development team has full responsibility for our online presence, and that is a very big deal.
As a WordPress Developer you will:
- Collaborate with developers, designers and product managers on a daily basis.
- Develop, test, and deploy WordPress sites.
- Utilize the CARFAX Style Guide and Pattern Library to align sites to product design standards.
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working theme and plugin.
- Ensuring high-performance and availability and managing all technical aspects of the CMS.
- Assist in maintaining the WordPress instance within our AWS environment.
- Be detail-oriented and work quickly to meet deadlines.
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Experience designing and developing responsive design websites for desktop, mobile and tablet.
- Experience building high-scale websites with the WordPress CMS, including themes, child-themes, plug-in and add-on development
- Proficient in WordPress, Bootstrap, CSS 3, HTML 5, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP
- Advanced Understanding of the WordPress Core and WordPress coding best practices
- Hands-on experience building within an AWS environment, preferably AWS Beanstalk.
- WordPress SEO Experience
- Debugging and Optimization of Custom PHP Code
Nice To Have:
- Experience optimizing WordPress sites for speed. Specifically, CWV (Core web vitals), PSI (Page Speed Insights), Lighthouse.
- Experience working with analytics and product teams to optimize user engagement and conversion
- Front-end development experience or experience supporting headless WordPress architecture and REST API
- Web Accessibility experience
