Cardiac Care - Cardiac Catheterization Lab- UH

Reporting to the Coordinator of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, the Registered Medical Radiation Technologist is responsible for performing radiological procedures including, under the supervision of the Cardiologist, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac disease.  The successful candidate will be a team player interested in providing an exceptional patient experience within the cardiac catheterization lab. The MRT will be able to ensure that protection measures are appropriately utilized in order to minimize hazards to both staff and patients. This position includes on call nights and weekends.

Regular Part-Time 

Rate of Pay:       $36.84 per hour - $50.24 per hour

Hours of Work:   Up to 45 hours bi-weekly; rotating start times; on-call required

Qualifications

 
  • Currently registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)

     

  • Certification with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists preferred

     

  • Minimum six (6) months previous Radiology experience

     

  • Previous experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory preferred

     

  • Knowledge and skill in radiography procedures and computer systems 

     

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with patients, and staff

     

  • Demonstrated strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)

     

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple and changing demands that require attention to detail in a high volume department

     

  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team

     

  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care

     

  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC

     

  • Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values

     

  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
