Job Description
Digital Extremes is looking for a meticulous and proactive Accounting Manager to lead our day-to-day financial operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of our financial records while managing a high-performing accounting team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys the "nuts and bolts" of accounting but wants to work in a creative, fast-paced tech environment.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the Assistant Controller; manages the A/R, A/P, and general accounting staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operational Supervision: Directly supervise bank, A/R, A/P, merchandise, and capital asset functions, including the review of journal entries and working papers.
- General Ledger Accuracy: Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement analysis, monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare/record journal entries to ensure a precise and timely monthly close.
- Close Execution: Lead the execution of the monthly close process, ensuring all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time for Assistant Controller review.
- System Administration & Process Efficiency: Act as a super-user for the Workday accounting system. Identify and implement workflow and software efficiencies to scale with the studio's growth.
- Audit Preparation: Coordinate the preparation of audit work papers and schedules, supporting the Assistant Controller during the year-end audit.
- Documentation: Ensure documentation for department policies and procedures are continually developed and maintained.
- Team Mentorship: Provide day-to-day mentorship and professional development to the accounting staff, fostering a collaborative remote/hybrid work environment
- Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of applicable experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role; CPA designation required.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g. PivotTables, conditional formatting, complex nested formulas)
- Experience with Workday financial system is a significant asset.

- Availability to work weekends/holidays occasionally to accommodate month-end deadlines (5th of each month).

Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000
