ABOUT THE ROLE

As Accounting Coordinator, you will work with the finance team on invoicing and event partner payments in addition to supporting the accounting side of the business in general. These processes are critical to the success of our organization and to support our partners in the management of their events on our platform.   

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preparing invoices, following up with hotels to obtain final room night reconciliation, and recording invoices in the accounting system
  • Tracking and following up on outstanding reward point collections with hotels
  • Calculating event partner revenue share payments
  • Providing general support to accounting/finance functions
  • Assisting in accurately maintaining accounting files

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of data entry accuracy
  • Experience in gathering data, compiling proper information, and preparing reports
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Creative problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated, driven, and willing to learn
  • Friendly, professional and confident in person, on the phone and through email communications
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records
  • Advanced computer skills particularly with spreadsheets
  • Experience working with Quickbooks or similar accounting software and Google workspace based platform (Gmail/sheets etc.) in addition to Excel
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to adapt and accept new challenges
  • A university or college graduate or equivalent work experience, preferably in Accounting or related field
  • Experience in a similar role is an asset, especially in the hotel or event industry
  • You must have an open work permit, be a permanent resident of Canada or be a Canadian citizen
  • This role requires working in our London, ON office with the possibility of moving to a hybrid role after the training period ends
