Salary Grade: N06 From: $77,627.00 To: $97,034.00
- Build queries to extract, compile and analyze data using PeopleSoft, Excel, Access, Oracle HCM, PowerBI and Fabric (including Python).
- Perform statistical analysis and/or develop “what if” scenarios to analyze data to identify trends, monitor program value, create predictive forecasts, and measure results
- Determine the most appropriate method for conveying information, for example, reports, dashboards, scorecards, presentations
- Design and develop reports using Data visualization and data management tools
- Develop costing models based on current data, identifying key variables and assumptions
- Reviews and converts critical existing manual reports into newer more streamlined formats using PowerBI, or data visualization reporting tools.
- Supports centralized employee data reporting for standard quarterly, annual or organizational and legislative reports as well as the creation of Dashboard and Analytics in alignment with leadership priorities
- Identify new sources of data and methods to improve data mining
- Works with consultants and contractors during projects on various data integrity or report specific deliverables
- Prepare daily, weekly, bi-weekly, quarterly and annual reports according to the People cluster Reporting Schedule
- Assess ad hoc requests and consult with requestors to determine context, data requirements, work effort and time required to ensure quality reporting that addresses the requestor’s business need. Identify any potentially contentious issues and escalate as required.
- Present relevant trends, identify issues and implications to the business leader and provide consulting, guidance and advice on interpreting and acting on data
- Aggregates People related data to produce standard, value-added People cluster analytical solutions for use by various People cluster teams, line managers and executives
- Creates and maintains standard procedural documentation related to reporting solutions and reporting from People systems for reference, training and support purposes.
- Develop and maintains data mapping specification tables to show how shared data elements from source systems map to boundary systems, identifying primary keys that connect the various databases. Define mapping for historical data during migration of system enhancements
- Recommend relevant People cluster metrics based on best practices to enable external comparison and internal benchmarking over time
- Co-ordinate, lead or participate in benchmark surveys from external parties such as Conference Board of Canada and Corporate Leadership Council identifying appropriate comparators to benchmark WSIB metrics from a variety of sources including other organizations
- Research specific People cluster topics of interest for the purposes of identifying best practices and workforce trends by gathering, analyzing, summarizing and communicating
- Investigate possible methods of improving and/or automating the reporting process through query scheduling, use of Access and other tools
- Provides recommendations and technical leadership in the design, creation and enhancement of reporting / analysis solutions in keeping with the demands of strategic business support.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in people analytics.
- Establishes a governance framework for the definition of People data and metadata elements in addition to creating standards, policies, processes and controls over how these data elements are setup, used, revised and maintained within People systems as well as across organizational boundary systems.
- Maintains master data libraries and People cluster data governance and framework documentation
- Assist in the development of data and reporting standards to ensure data integrity, consistency and reliability of data reported
- Ensure that all reports produced adhere to data standards and intake process governance
- Develop data awareness and data management skills development programs for the People cluster portfolio to advance operational efficiency, strengthen the monitoring of programs and encourage evidenced-based decision-making
- Creates and maintains standard procedural documentation related to reporting solutions and reporting from People systems for reference, training and support purposes.
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, finance, statistics, social science or related field or related experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, finance, statistics, social science or related field
- Data Science, UX design or expertise with SQL or Python programming languages
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting
- 3-5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting
- 3-5 years of experience using HRMS (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- 1-3 years of HR experience
- 1-3 years of PowerBI/Fabric experience
