We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst.

The Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for leading the analysis of business problems and developing requirements, application specifications and contribution towards application design efforts. The Senior Business Systems Analyst champions and contributes to the development of analysis standards, tools, processes and best practices. This role applies advanced knowledge to complex work and supports project, application and operations teams by sharing skills and mentoring. This role leads the work to implement solutions to complex problems, which may be independently or through leading or supporting the collaboration with other stakeholders.

 

What you will do

  • Lead and orchestrate the overall analysis, scoping, estimating and planning for large or complex initiatives.
  • Lead the elicitation and validation of business requirements impacting multiple products using various methods, techniques and tools.
  •  Lead and facilitates meetings, walkthroughs, workshops, and reviews of deliverables.
  • Develops and delivers training & support materials for affected stakeholders.
  • Ensures solutions and configurations meet business requirements and enterprise-level policy guidance (e.g. architecture, security, risk) and ensures the translation of those processes, needs and requirements into related artifacts and documentation.
  • Lead the troubleshooting & resolution of complex problems to determine root cause and possible solutions, requiring the identification and analysis of alternative courses of action, involving the development of new approaches, tactics and initiatives.
  •  Lead the communication of technical complexities to senior business stakeholders.
  • Lead configuration, prototyping, data modeling activities for complex projects or products.
  • Develop and validate solution design, product configuration, or package criteria with business stakeholders.
  • Partner with the QA team to ensure test strategies, plans and processes align with the business requirements and enable efficiencies in the work or testing process.
  • Be a trusted advisor within the business unit, management, internal and external partners.
  • Provides direction and leadership to less senior professionals and is recognized as a technical analysis leader throughout the department.
  •  Mentors, trains and coaches various resources (e.g. cross-discipline practitioners, business/3rd party representatives) on analysis strategies, methods, processes, tools, approaches and methodologies.

What you will bring

  • Minimum 5 years as a Business System Analyst in an I.T. environment (Data Analytics and BI experience an asset).
  • BSc Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Expert knowledge in Power BI Report development using both Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to multi-task in an environment of ever-changing processes and priorities.
  • Attention to details, ability to analyze and evaluate information and render effective decisions or solve problems.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal), build consensus and promote the exchange of information among stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical subject matter in business terms for executive audiences, succinctly and professionally.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent tasks and changing priorities.
  • Possess strong entrepreneurial skills with a bias to delivering business outcomes, forging strong business partnerships, effectively managing risk, managing scope change as an opportunity to deliver greater value and making value-oriented decisions
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work in a virtual team environment, facilitating and contributing to work across geographies and across other functional teams.
  • Agile, practical, customer service-oriented mindset (doesn’t over complicate processes).
  • Generally curious and excited to learn new things.

The base salary for this position is between  $61000 - $ 114000 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
