Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Director, IT and Performance, the IT System Administrator will ensure proper operations of the IT systems so that end users can accomplish organizational tasks. This includes server deployment and administration, system patching and upgrading, backup and recovery, and data center management. The IT System Administrator will also help support the Voyago IT team with any additional network or infrastructure changes in order to maintain business continuity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor system logs and performance, responding to issues, troubleshooting and identifying root causes, and implementing technical solutions
  • Performing day to day operational activities, including server deployment and administration, system patching and upgrade, backup and recovery, and data center management
  • Assist in testing, IT projects, implementing solutions for enhancing software, hardware, network and IT processes
  • Carry out daily client systems checks, reporting to the IT Manager/Director where necessary
  • Help maintain and create new IT documents and processes related to configurations, hardware and software installations
  • Maintain inventory lists for hardware and software, provide training for end users on software, hardware and services
  • Participate in after hours on-call rotation to support the business
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or related
  • 5 Years experience in an advanced IT role
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft based software
  • Advanced knowledge of Virtualized environments
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals
  • MCSE / CompTIA A+ / VCP, CCNA/CCNP or equivalent
  • French language skills would be an asset
  • Works well in a team setting
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deliver quality solutions within assigned timeline with minimal to no supervision
  • Capable of driving a G class company vehicle in a safe and professional manner
  • Effective communication skills
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Exceptional customer service skills
