Production Manager

The Production Manager – AMPS & Components is responsible for managing daily manufacturing operations of two core teams in Trojan Technologies’ Municipal Drinking & Wastewater business segment. The first team, AMPS, is responsible for fast-turn order fulfillment of the rapidly growing aftermarket parts & service business. The second team, Components, comprises a group of assemblers and technicians responsible for UV lamp, sleeve and sensor products essential to the proper functioning of Trojan’s UV disinfection systems.

This role takes responsibility for staffing/resourcing/development of associates, order prioritization & planning, data analysis & reporting, and most importantly driving continuous execution and improvement against Danaher’s core performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, Productivity). The position serves as an integral part of Trojan’s broader Manufacturing Team and works extensively with internal groups (quality, planning, materials management, purchasing, etc.) as well as external Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Engineering and Senior Leadership functions.

An ability to effectively lead multiple priorities, both short and long-term, is critical for a successful candidate in this role. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with significant cross-functional exposure, this could be a great opportunity for you!

Accountabilities

  • Develop a team of about 11 high-potential associates across assembly, calibration, pick/pack and planning core functions with an emphasis on process orientation, continuous improvement, and execution

  • Champion the implementation of and adherence to DBS (Danaher Business System) principles, utilizing continuous improvement tools to reduce downtime, improve quality & delivery, and achieve productivity targets

  • Model and promote adherence to EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) policies, procedures, and initiatives

  • Serve as a primary liaison with sales and customer service teams to resolve order fulfillment, inventory, production, or shipment logistics issues and ensure customer needs are consistently being served

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive long-term performance enhancement initiatives that are top leadership
priorities (run data collection & analysis, root cause determination, and counter-measure implementation)

  • Provide coaching and feedback to associates, supporting their goals while driving improved engagement and fostering a collaborative environment

  • Ensure compliance and adherence to quality system standards including Standard Work Process (SWP) documentation, training records, productivity timesheets, calibration record maintenance, and more

  • Serve as advocate for continuous process execution and improvement, driving new modes of communication
and problem solving across teams to reduce bottlenecks, improve clarity, and ultimately reduce waste across organization

  • Manage training & compliance with core inventory management practices (Kanban execution, cycle counts,
inventory discrepancy investigation & countermeasure, location audits, etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Engineering or Business Degree (or related experience)

  • Minimum 5 years Supply Chain, Engineering, or Manufacturing Experience, which must include prior experience with direct reports.  Must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment and able to learn and problem-solve quickly – both in terms of processes and people

  • Process focused with continuous improvement mindset

  • Excellent planning, organizing, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work across all levels of company, from shop floor to L1 Senior Leadership team

  • Must be able to act with a sense of urgency while balancing multiple challenging priorities
