The Role 

We are looking for a skilled Operations Manager to help maintain and grow our organizational processes.  The ideal candidate will be able to identify and design general process improvements and improvements related to our System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).  To successfully implement and maintain these improvements the candidate will establish trusted relationships across multiple teams. They will ensure all improvements align with our Company goals and objectives. They will define and create reporting metrics (KPIs) on key processes.  This position will lead our Customer Support and Production Support Teams, and report to our Chief Technology Offer.

 

This position can be performed from our office in London Ontario, remotely in Ontario, or a combination of both.  Remote based employees may occasionally be asked to travel to our office for meetings or team building events.

 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Strong ability to identify and design general and SDLC process improvements;
  • Ability to clearly communicate and document recommended improvements;
  • Establish and develop strong, trusting relationships with key decision makers;
  • Define, document and regularly report on metrics (KPIs) relating to process improvements;
  • Lead a group of technical and non-technical employees;
  • Collaborate effectively across the Company to support the implementation and adoption of improvements;
  • Participate in decisions made by the Change Management Group; and
  • Other duties as requested and discussed with the Company.

 

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • More than 5 years’ prior related experience in software development and/or client support, preferably in the insurance or a related industry;
  • Established leader with a continuous improvement mindset;
  • Aptitude for fostering positive partnerships, both internally and externally;
  • Ability to quickly gain an in-depth knowledge of our products and stay up to date on solutions;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Jira;
  • Professional, results-oriented with a high degree of self-motivation;
  • Excellent project management, planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills; and
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

 

Nice To Have

  • Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry.
