We are establishing our new head office in London and looking to grow our team! Candidates located in this region will be given preference.

This job may require travel to Toronto, or in other locations across Ontario for in office days, training, or events. In office days are typically held monthly. Travel reimbursement will be provided in accordance with WSIB policies.
Salary $137,775.00 - $172,219
Job Summary:
Direct the overall planning, development, delivery and evaluation of programs, projects and services of the IT Project Delivery branch through a team.
Provide strategic and functional leadership to IT project management resources to ensure all projects are delivered using a ‘best-practice’ Project Delivery Approach and delivered within scope, time, cost and quality, yielding maximum return on IT investments.
Optimize the IT program/project capabilities, project delivery framework, and the processes and mechanisms to ensure high quality IT project delivery.
Directs and provides technical guidance to the planning, development, implementation of all IT projects.
Provide expert advice, consultation and strategic direction to on a broad range of initiatives.
Develop and maintain communication linkages and relationships internally and externally as required.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Plan, direct and control the day-to-day operation and administration of the branch through a team(s) responsible for the delivery of IT Projects. This includes:
- Leading and developing employee teams within legislative and policy requirements; ensuring employees are provided appropriate performance objectives and development programs.
- Providing guidance and ongoing coaching and feedback to direct reports
- Proactively setting performance expectations and help to remove any barriers to ensure success.
- Managing financial and physical resources including developing and forecasting annual operating and capital budgets; monitoring and reporting on variances based on projections; and evaluating overall IT projects expenditures.
- Ensuring proper quantity, competencies and skills are in place and optimized performance and resource management.
2. Design, implement and oversee an adaptive project delivery and governance framework for technology projects of varying sizes and complexity.
- Develop and implement processes to support a quality assurance and project advisory function to support excellence in project delivery
- Applying analytical method for maximizing productivity and aligning projects to the organizations’ strategic priorities and capabilities
- Advise on best practices for IT project delivery and on appropriate governance and controls.
3. Build IT project delivery capabilities across the development of several work streams, coordinate and direct the implementation of technology projects and transformative initiatives to achieve strategic outcome/benefits.
- Optimize project delivery processes that will evolve the maturity of the IT project management practice and support the use of various delivery methodologies.
- Leading the development, execution and integration of portfolio based management to drive an optimized schedule for IT project execution while managing interdependencies and risks .
4. Plan and develop short and long term branch strategic business plans to support WSIB and divisional strategic goals and objectives and respond to changing business initiatives or organizational strategies. As a member of the management team, collaborate with peers and Vice-President to identify, recommend and develop divisional strategy, goals and objectives in support of corporate strategies, goals and objectives.
5. Act as technical resource, providing strategic direction, advice and guidance to senior management. Participate as a team member and management member at various management meetings to discuss, identify, recommend changes that will improve services, provide input and expertise on issues of mutual concern, and exchange information.
6. Develop and maintain communication linkages and relationships internally with all levels of management and externally with vendors as required to identify ongoing and changing needs, and to ensure programs, services and work processes are aligned with business requirements to maintain a high level of customer service and support.
Job Requirements:
Education requirements:
- University degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or other related fields.
- PMI, Prince2 or equivalent project management certification.
Experience:
- 5-7 years hands-on experience leading and managing an IT project management office or equivalent.
