Specialist, Workplace Investigations
(This is a full-time contract position for a period of up to two (2) years)
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Specialist, Workplace Investigations is responsible for conducting workplace investigations from intake through resolution. The role supports investigations related to harassment, discrimination, workplace violence, and other serious policy or legislative concerns, in accordance with applicable legislation, collective agreements, case law, and LTC policies. The Specialist conducts neutral fact-finding, prepares investigation reports, and advises management and employees on investigation processes and respectful workplace obligations.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage workplace investigations from receipt through resolution, ensuring fairness, confidentiality, and procedural integrity
- Conduct interviews, review evidence, and prepare clear investigation findings and recommendations
- Maintain confidential investigation records in accordance with legislative and policy requirements
- Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on workplace investigations, human rights, and respectful workplace matters
- Identify trends or systemic issues and support preventative or corrective workplace initiatives
- Monitor relevant legislative and case law developments and support related policy updates
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Health and Safety, or a related field, such as law, or an equivalent combination of education and experience and demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations
- Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Employment Standards Act, and related case law and excellent communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
