Summary of position

This hands-on individual leads the design and development of our internal data warehouse using the Microsoft platform.  As someone who has spent years interacting with and extracting data from various systems, this individual will understand how best to build ETL processes and the database objects they populate to provide the best actionable intelligence to end users across the organization.

Here are some of the different activities you’ll be asked to do:

  • Design, development and support of data extraction and ingestion using the Microsoft platform
  • Model, design and build of data warehouse structures (e.g. tables, views) in collaboration with business and technology partners
  • Build, schedule and monitor of automated ETL jobs
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for items pertaining to the data warehouse
  • Bring in new sources of data by working with the team to explore the global Jones ecosystem
  • Support Business and Data Analysts who are building business facing tools using visualization platforms such as Power BI and Tableau
  • Work with other areas of technology as needed for planning patching and performance monitoring

If you’ve got:

  • 3 - 5 years of Microsoft SSIS ETL development experience
  • 3 - 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server development experience including table, view, index, function, stored procedure and other DDL/DML related development
  • 5+ years building data warehouse solutions based on dimensional modeling principles
  • Ability to clearly communicate with both technical and non-technical teammates
  • Data modeling experience an asset
  • Experience extracting and exploring data from core business (such as ERPs) is an asset
