**Internal job title: Specialist, Vendor Relations**

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Vendor Governance, the incumbent is responsible for performing analysis and making recommendations concerning contracts and procurement processes. The incumbent will provide advisory assistance in supplier management.

Responsibilities:

  • Subject matter expert in Vendor Governance practices at Fairstone (including new programs and changes to policy), assisting vendor owners with meeting all policies, processes, required due diligence activities for their responsible vendors.
  • Manage all aspects of the vendor relationship which includes vendor onboarding/ offboarding (due diligence), regular contract lifecycle management, project management, issue, and performance SLA management.
  • Review contract documents ranging in size and complexity.
  • Manage sourcing activities as needed, which includes RFx and contract negotiations.
  • Recommend and present cost savings opportunities related to improved terms and/or performance standards.
  • Manage multiple initiatives and work with business stakeholders and/ or external partners.
  • Manage vendor contractual adherence, including performance and financial terms.
  • Support Operational Risk Management (ORM) activities.
  • Update and maintaining Bank operational procedures, providing training and communication of changes to vendor owners.

Experience required:

  • Previous experience in Vendor Relationship Management (min. 5 years).
  • Previous experience in Procurement (min. 3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of policies supporting the third-party management lifecycle and detailed understanding of what it takes to build and maintain a successful vendor relationship.
  • Possess excellent research and analytical skills to help identify related cost savings, process improvements, and risk management to drive and optimize vendor value.
  • Advanced skills using MS Office 365 suite.
  • Must be a self-starter, results oriented, with an affinity for accuracy and details.
  • Strong problem-solving skills - Accurately defines problems and identifies relevant. factors. Objectively considers alternatives and anticipates impact of possible solutions. Provide informed recommendations.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience and or Green Belt certification. (a nice-to-have)
  • Effective communication and reporting skills - verbal and written.
  • Effectively prioritize activities with conflicting priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • Banking experience (an asset).
