IT Support and Operations Technician

Digital Boundary Group (DBG), is a leading cybersecurity firm and a division of DRT Cyber. We specialize in security assessments, research, and secure development practices. We are hiring a passionate, security-minded individual for this hybrid position out of our site in London, Ontario.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Provide end-user technical support and monitor ticketing systems, emails, filters, and reports to identify potential security issues and take appropriate action.
  • Support tier 2 tasks such as hardware/software issues, VPN/connectivity issues, and related technical concerns.
  • Support the management of remote network security assessment devices by maintaining and updating template images, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and ensuring project statuses are accurately reflected in management software.
  • Conduct regular physical inspections of company infrastructure, including servers, generators, and climate control systems in our London, ON office.
  • Assist in maintaining system security by reviewing and prioritizing security patches and updates while remaining up to date on vulnerabilities and security best practices.
  • Contribute to the automation of vulnerability scanning, remediation, and deployments.
  • Set up workstations to meet user needs and maintain networked printers and devices.
  • Provide technical onboarding for new hires.
  • Create, update, and maintain clear documentation and network diagrams.
  • Build virtual test networks as required using VMware vSphere and VMware workstation.
  • Stay current with technical advancements and security best practices and make suggestions for improvements.
  • Participate in long-term infrastructure improvement projects as needed.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting end-users, systems, and security operations.
  • College diploma in related field or equivalent training and commensurate work experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of Linux systems (Ubuntu, FreeBSD, etc.), VPN systems, networking concepts, MS Office Suite, and MS 365.
  • Support level knowledge of Windows 10, Mac OSX, Windows Server 2012-2025, and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Familiarity with VMWare vSphere, VMware Workstation, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Ability to work independently, identify issues, and implement solutions.
  • Experience with FOG project and/or other bulk OS imaging and deployment tools is an asset.
  • Understanding of network services and devices such as routers and firewalls, DHCP/DNS, VPN, and network file sharing/permissions is preferred.

 

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience.

Additional Compensation: This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
