Senior Product Manager, IT Finance Management (Benchmarking Product Management)

Position Purpose

Interested in playing a critical role in the development, marketing, sales, and quality management of a new IT Finance Management (ITFM) benchmarking service? Info-Tech is building up its ITFM research and benchmarking practice and is recruiting for it’s next Senior Product Manager. The incumbent in this role will have two primary areas of focus:

  • The launch of the IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency product set. This will include product development, field testing, positioning and marketing, launch, and iterative product enhancements. A sustainable/repeatable core IT metrics program is a must-have from this effort. This information will help drive both research content and inquiries.
  • Develop research for the ITFM Research Center. This will be a broad effort outlined below that will include positioning of the IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency capability along with refreshing and creating and identifying new content through and overall product roadmap.

 

What You Will Do:

Manage the IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency pilot

  • The managed portfolio will start with the Info-Tech Research Group’s IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency pilot. This includes client management, Intellectual Property (IP) updates, delivery management (inputs/outputs, client deliverables) and analysis.

Launch of the IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency product set across Industries

  • Following the IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency pilot, building an overall product roadmap for the successful implementation of the service across all industries.
  • Key activities following the pilot include:
    • Provide overall summary of the pilot, what worked, what did not, how to improve.
    • Update Intellectual Property (IP) of the service as needed, build out new IP as required (as service is launched into new industries).
    • Create an updated delivery model and associated materials in support of various delivery mechanisms (Guided Implementation (GI), Workshop, Other).
    • Determine how to scale the service using people, tools, and processes and build/initiate the plan to roll-out the IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency service across Info-Tech Industries, aligned with leadership direction.
    • Determine how to build, sustain, and ensure a repeatable data capture process that results in a database that is refreshed and viable for inquiries and IT Spend assessments over time. Build the internal cadence to inform the ITFM Research center with data and analytics.
    • Design, build, and manage the marketing campaign (internal, external, various channels) for the formal launch of the product.

 Launch new ITFM Research Center

Note: The IT Spend Benchmarking and Transparency pilot is the initial/immediate activity in this area.

  • Key activities for the Research Center include:
    • Identification of all ITFM related research currently within Info-Tech.
    • Support the ITFM Research Director in building a cohesive ITFM perspective, rationalizing current content and identifying gaps where new content/topics will be required. This will result ITFM Research Center roadmap, a two-five-year plan.

Broader Responsibilities for Info-Tech Research Group

  • Play a critical role in the marketing, sales, and quality management of Info-Tech’s ITFM Research Center.
  • You will be accountable for the volume of services delivered within your area of practice coverage.
  • Monitoring the delivery feedback process within your practice area and ensuring that feedback is communicated internally in ways that are actionable, practical, and member-centric to the improvement of the core research which makes up the product.
  • Representing your product and the interests of the members your product serves internally to ensure that the research and advisory material produced reflects the needs of the market.
  • Ensuring that the products you manage meet conformity of standards across Info-Tech Research Group’s practices, is of the highest quality caliber, and directly builds measurable value for our members.
  • Supporting sales and properly resourcing delivery within your product stewardship area, as well as helping improve the associated research when required.
  • Accurately and clearly setting expectations with members to ensure the success of service delivery.
  • Participating in a variety of other related activities including advisory and delivery, and product innovation and research.

 

What You Will Need: 

Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, IT, or other related discipline.
  • Practical experience (3+ years) supporting and/or executing IT advisory/consulting engagements.
  • Experience with Product and/or Project Management, including gathering service requirements and measuring objective delivery criteria.
  • Experience in one or more of the required IT domains (IT Strategy, Infrastructure, Security) is a strong asset.
  • IT certifications are also an asset.
  • Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing advisory/consulting engagements.
  • History of strong relationship building and management skills. Experience gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite considered beneficial.
