Senior Business Analyst

The Disability Solutions team is looking for an experienced, and passionate Senior Business Analyst with experience in business analysis of large-scale projects. This position allows you to work with many different teams within our disability organization and larger Workplace Solutions.?

The Senior Business Analyst works on projects along with our technology partners and various teams within the Workplace Solutions to transform our operation. This position is suited to an individual who enjoys working in an environment with complex problems, challenging deadlines, drives problems to conclusion and has the desire to become a business and technical expert in the organization.

What you will do? 

• • Drive stakeholder engagement by facilitating workshops and interviews to identify and document business needs 

  • Map out current state and design future state processes

  • Develop and demonstrate subject matter expertise around our disability systems 

  • Collaborate with technology stakeholders to ensure understanding of the business requirements, use cases and solution design

  • Represent the business to ensure solution delivery is appropriate and meets the needs of the business 

  • Analyze operational data to develop the business case to support project prioritization and scoping decisions

  • Creating and evaluating test plans and outcomes (results, defects, etc) 

  • Presenting recommendations to senior leaders in the organization

  • Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time by identifying risks and recommending mitigation strategies 

  • Support Learning and Development with the creation of internal training material

  • Leading resources on larger projects may include: 

• Developing formal project plans 

• Providing coaching and direction to team members 

• Ensuring deadlines are met and project objectives are achieved

What you will bring? 

• Knowledge of disability claims and Workplace Solutions systems is a strong asset 

• 2-4 years of experience in a Business Analyst or comparable role 

• Post-secondary education in business or a similar/related field, or equivalent experience 

• Solution focused – enjoys the challenge of problem solving 

• An enthusiastic team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, experience, and ideas, and is open to the ideas and input of others 

• Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, able to tailor communication style to the audience 

• Commitment to self development

• Experience in coaching, training, or assisting other staff. 

• Effective time management skills; able to work independently and manage multiple deadlines/projects 

• Experience in applying skills using Word, Excel, Access, and Visio software ? 

• Reliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada  website

The base salary for this position is between  $51,400- $95,200 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
