Are you a Network Operations Engineer who specializes in highly secure, complex IT environments? Does the idea of joining a team responsible for innovation and maintaining and supporting a wide breadth of IT solutions excite you? If so, the Network Operations Engineer role at CARFAX may be a great fit for you! In this role, you will be responsible for a wide range of IT solutions, including Cloud Networks, multiple Data Centers, high-volume, customer facing web sites as well as providing infrastructure network support to multiple WAN connectivity points.
As a Network Operations Engineer you will:
- Ensure the stable and reliable connectivity of all Cloud, LAN, and WAN networks
- Ownership of network monitoring, including alarms/alerts, monitoring systems, incident triage, reporting, dashboards, testing and audit.
- Develop KPIs with regular reporting intervals.
- Turn network data into actionable network intelligence.
- Maintain up-to-date detailed documentation.
- Be available for 24/7 “on-call” issues and “off-hour” maintenance or installations.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- 2+ years experience installing, maintaining, securing, and monitoring networks.
- Understanding of cloud network concepts.
- 2+ years administration of network monitoring tools.
- Understand common protocols like SNMP, NETFLOW.
- Detail oriented personality who thrives on creating organized processes and concise data.
- Ability to integrate software systems to work together – for example: connecting alarm outputs from one system into dashboard inputs of a different system.
- Ability to communicate technical information non-technical and senior leadership staff.
Desired Skills:
- Scripting, reporting, automation.
- Experience with Cisco, NGINX, Solarwinds, AWS and InfoBlox.

- Effectively communicate technical information to IT staff members and corporate staff
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift (up to 75 lbs.) and move equipment in and out of a computer room racks, as well as maneuver under counters and through ladder racks to run cables.
