Title: Information Security Analyst

Location: Canada Remote

 

The Role: 

The Information Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring compliance with corporate and IT security policy, applicable laws and regulations; and coordinating investigation and reporting of security incidents. The incumbent shall be responsible for coordinating resources, assist developing, and executing priorities on the information security roadmap. This role will also be expected to schedule security awareness trainings, recording and presenting metrics related to the performance and status of various security priorities is a key.

The candidate must be a strong problem solver, self-motivated and forward-thinking to be able to identify security gaps, remediation opportunities, and plan and execute accordingly. The candidate should be open to learn and develop new skills. The ability to collaborate, partner and integrate with the various stakeholders and departments is also a key factor to success

 

Responsibilities:

  • Foster Security Culture at J.D. Power
  • Responsible for policy development including annual review, risk assessment across the enterprise
  • Driving the business to follow company’s information security policies
  • Identify key vendors and use an online platform to assess vendor’s security posture periodically based on risk and maintain third party SOC and other independent audit report
  • Identify critical information assets and assess the risks associated with data management practices. Maintain updated data flow diagrams to address data protection risks
  • Assist with the development, implementation and testing of the security incident response plan. Document all activities during an incident and provides leadership with status updates during the incident life cycle
  • Effectively communicate with users, peers, and management with information security related matters / audits / regulatory requirements / policies, etc. Prepare management presentation reports including security metrics
  • Assist developing security related programs such as employee training, phishing tests, system and vendor audits, client Request for Information (RFI), document and/or information gathering, review of user exception requests
  • Works closely with infrastructure, business teams as well as third party security service providers to help achieve the desired security goals and objectives
  • Support IT system owners with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Planning and testing. Maintain DRP/BCP documentation for all major IT areas.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science /Information Systems 0-1 year of experience
  • Passionate about Information Security and related topics
  • Reliable team player who can work under pressure
  • Working knowledge of reporting platforms like Power BI, Tableau
  • Working Knowledge of AWS, Azure
  • Broad understanding of the cyber security industry and be able to engage effectively with management and other groups providing pragmatic solutions
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Experience with technical security-related projects and skills with ability to multitask in a cross-functional environment. Capability of managing cross functional projects is expected
  • Strong knowledge of key issues regarding IT Security and Information Risk Management (Data
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple competing priorities
