The IT department at Ivey Business School plays a pivotal role in shaping the institution's technological landscape, constantly engaging in exciting and innovative activities. Position Overview:
The Senior Salesforce Administrator will provide administration and user support for Salesforce Commerce Cloud at Ivey Publishing. Responsible for the strategic development of Salesforce to optimize and scale the platform to meet growing operational needs, they are hands-on technical expert responsible for the day-to-day management, configuration and maintenance of the platform.
Acting as both the technical lead and a business partner to Ivey Publishing, the Senior Salesforce Administrator will utilize their proven Business Analyst skills to design, build, and optimize the Salesforce ecosystem, including flows, customizations and integrations supporting support business requirements, ensuring data integrity standards and reporting requirements are met/maintained with every change and update.
Responsibilities:
Salesforce Administration
- Maintains profiles, roles, users, security settings, sharing rules and API Integrations.
- Manage and prioritize all Salesforce service requests, system enhancements, and projects and act as the first point of contact for triaging system issues.
- Design, build, test, and troubleshoot Salesforce Flows to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Create and manage custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, workflows, and approval processes.
- Support and maintain integration with third-party apps (e.g., FormAssembly, Campaign Monitor, Pardot).
- Monitor and manage data integrity, including data cleansing, data migration, and troubleshooting inaccuracies.
- Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and system documentation.
- Evaluate Salesforce seasonal releases, communicate impacts, and plan implementation of new features.
- Collaborate with Ivey IT and external vendors to address complex technical requirements and platform upgrades.
- Identify when technical requirements must be escalated for advanced development and manage hand-offs to appropriate resources.
Business Analysis
- Optimizes individual and team performance related to the usage of Salesforce by working across multiple business functions to identify, document, and implement streamlined business processes.
- Lead business process reviews and define technical and business requirements for system enhancements.
- Participates in the development of a Salesforce Strategy/Roadmap.
- Design and implement Salesforce solutions aligned with best practices in business process automation.
- Document business and technical requirements, create functional specifications, and develop acceptance criteria.
- Lead and deliver training to Salesforce users to support the adoption of system enhancements and best practices.
- Facilitates change management, including documentation and training for Salesforce users on new features.
- Conduct business process reviews and analyses, propose solutions.
- Research, evaluate and recommend new AppExchange apps, plug-ins and related tools that contribute to achieving business goals and strategies.
- Work collaboratively across teams to ensure solutions align with organizational goals and enhance the user experience.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Successful completion of a university degree or College diploma in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years in a role involving Salesforce support and/or administration.
- Minimum two years’ experience building and troubleshooting flows required.
- Experience with Salesforce Lightning Interface required.
- Experience with developing complex reports, data migration and managing integrations, including Campaign Monitor and/or Pardot required.
- Knowledge and experience with Commerce Cloud, Service Cloud required.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification required.

- Advanced expertise in designing, building, optimizing, and troubleshooting Salesforce Flows.
- Strong project management skills; able to independently manage multiple initiatives, service requests, and competing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with a proven ability to work independently while keeping stakeholders consistently informed.
- Proven ability to evaluate technical issues, prioritize resolution strategies, and escalate appropriately to developers when needed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to clearly translate technical concepts for non-technical users and build collaborative relationships.
- Strong service-oriented mindset with a collaborative, team-first approach.
- Ability to respond professionally to urgent interruptions and shifting priorities.
- Advanced skills in cleansing, manipulating, and analyzing large datasets using Salesforce tools, Excel, and DataLoader.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solution designs, reports, dashboards, and automations.
- Proven experience conducting business process analysis, mapping, documentation, and developing functional requirements, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
