SEO Strategist

Your Role
SEO Strategists live at the intersection of consumer query and market competitiveness to maximize the amount of traffic referrals to the website. Working closely with the Managing Editor, this role will invest heavily in researching search query data to help us out rank against a defined list of competitors.
Accountable for
  • Creating an SEO practise and set of processes in the company which are repeatable, seamless and successful in generating outstanding organic search traffic
  • Establishing SEO guidelines and helping to integrate them into plans and roadmaps for internal departments
  • Collaborating with Editorial and Infrastructure teams to develop, plan and execute SEO strategies aligned with our company goals that target high-growth categories driving revenue, traffic, awareness and authority metrics
  • Continuously educating internal team members on the ever-changing best practices of SEO and how it impacts them and our strategy
  • Performing regular SEO audits on all page types using Moz, ahrefs, SEM Rush, etc
  • Proactively track and communicate site KPIs with a focus on keyword/page ranking and new search traffic opportunities
  • Simplifying data into actionable plans and business cases for team members to execute against
  • Owning all aspects of shaping the organization’s SEO practises, including on-page, off page and technical optimizations

  • Successfully indexing 100% of new pages in Google, followed by those pages ranking, and improving their rank
  • Content ranking in the top 10 SERP results by query
  • Volume of sessions at or above target

Experience
  • Direct examples of creating SEO practises in previous organisations
  • 4-6 years of experience in an SEO Analyst/Strategist role
  • Demonstrated success in improving a site’s domain and page SEO rank
