Associate Director, Business Development

Location: Remote, U.S.; Remote, Canada
Reports to Title: Director, Business Development


The Role:
The Associate Director, Business Development will be tasked with the identification, creation and cultivation of professional relationships that lead to deal closures within the sales pipeline. Bringing prospects into the sales pipeline to help sell products and services that include our data will be the primary focus of the role.

This includes engaging B2B companies, such as electric utilities and power suppliers, Fleet Management Companies, Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment companies, State and Federal entities, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and many emerging sectors that could include Solar, EV financing, Consultants, Non-profits, among others. This position will specifically focus on building revenue growth for the J.D. Power, ZappyRide brand and coordinate and execute on the sales strategy with their assigned accounts and develop new revenue growth opportunities. ?

The Impact

The Associate Director of Business Development will help to capture the growing market of industries and companies looking for EV engagement data and solutions. The role will also help us cast a wider net in sectors that are yet to embrace EV engagement and thus position J.D. Power, ZappyRide brand to establish a sales pipeline in markets that are in their infancy.

Responsibilities
  • Bring prospects into the sales funnel and manage that relationship from Introduction to deal closure (contract)
  • Negotiate contract terms with specific recommendations that help prospect make a decision to acquire our products and services
  • Continue to identify new opportunities/prospects and move them through the sales funnel.
  • Develop scope of work proposals and recommendations – Pricing and expected results
  • Understand CRMs such as HubSpot and Salesforce to record and consistently update weekly pipeline and next steps to support business
  • Quota-driven business development plan to reward year-over-year growth
  • Work with Marketing team to develop a marketing plan with clear objectives
  • Attend conferences and webinars to build relationships

Qualifications
  • 10+ years’ experience, which must include experience working in a start-up environment that is driving growth
  • Strong track record in selling software and data products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Conscientiousness and attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact, engage, and adapt as needed
  • Desire to help make a change from a century-old industry into a new industry
  • Knowledge of clean energy, electric transportation, and sustainability preferred
  • Background within data sales and management preferred
