Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in the world of corporate procurement? We're searching for a dedicated and experienced Corporate Buyer to join our team and lead the charge in sourcing and procuring indirect services and equipment.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of our procurement operations, collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the company to drive supplier management and enhance supplier quality and performance for all our indirect procurement initiatives. What you will be responsible for:

  • Vendor Evaluation and Recommendations: Thoroughly research potential vendors to identify the best options for procurement. Evaluate total cost and quality of indirect materials and services, providing recommendations that align with our strategic objectives.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Source and develop relationships with suppliers, fostering mutual beneficial partnerships. Your efforts will play a pivotal role in ensuring a reliable and robust supply chain.
  • Contract and Purchase Order Management: Lead negotiations and oversee the management of Terms and Conditions on all contracts and purchase orders across our global footprint, including Canada, the US, the UK, and Asia.
  • Spend Analysis and Cost Optimization: Analyze our current expenditure to identify opportunities for service improvement, cost reduction, and the streamlining of purchasing processes. Your insights will contribute to our overall financial efficiency.
  • Tactical Execution: Ensure the seamless execution of purchasing activities to meet the routine business needs of various departments within the organization.
  • Strategic Support: Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams for initiatives critical to the success of the business. Your expertise will be crucial in aligning these efforts with our procurement strategy.
  • Spend Optimization: Identify and leverage opportunities for company-wide spend optimization, ensuring that we harness our purchasing power effectively.
  • Training and Process Enhancement: Facilitate training on the purchase order process as needed, helping our teams understand and follow best practices. Additionally, actively engage in process enhancement to improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration with Finance and AP: Maintain open lines of communication and close collaboration with our Finance and Accounts Payable teams. Share insights on forecasted spend, budgets, new vendor setup, vendor master updates, and other critical financial aspects that impact our procurement operations.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in our London, ON Corporate Office
  • Post-secondary education - Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or relevant cumulative experience.
  • 5 years experience as a Buyer with 2-3 years experience in indirect procurement.
  • Previous experience reviewing Terms & Conditions and contracts.
  • Possesses a strong working knowledge and experience in key procurement areas including facilities contracts, procurement practices, cost modeling, legal and contract law.
  • Expertise in successfully executing Supplier Management programs.
  • Experience using ERP systems.
  • Advanced skill level using Microsoft 365 including Excel.
