Role description

We’re looking for an accounting manager to oversee a high performing accounting team that is responsible for suspense accounting, reconciliations, monitoring, and recording financial transactions that support accurate financial reporting. This is a people leader role that manages + motivates a high performing team – coaching, mentoring, and strong leadership potential are key for success. In addition, the Accounting Manager will build strong cross-functional relationships with peer teams across the organization – strong communication skills are critical.

 

What you will do

  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting through completion of financial transactions, reconciliations, journal entries and related investigation
  • Ensure SLAs and metrics are met and exceeded where possible
  • Drives resolution of outstanding items while overcoming obstacles
  • Maintain key summary processes that assist in greenlighting financial runs
  • Manage workloads + provide guidance + direction to team members where required
  • Lead on projects that impact accounting generated from various systems
  • Leverage your IFRS17 accounting and GAAP skills
  • Collaboratively work environment across teams, locations and levels

What you will bring

  • 5+ years of accounting experience ideally with leadership experience
  • CPA is an asset
  • High level of initiative and able to manage competing deadlines and priorities
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and drive a high-performing team of accounting professionals
  • Strong critical thinking skills, problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Strong knowledge of Excel + Access + detail oriented
  • Self-starter, team-oriented, and able to work with limited direction
  • Professional and approachable with an emphasis on collaborative working relationships
  • Education/skills acquired through completion of a post-secondary degree or equivalent work experience

The base salary for this position is between  $68,700 - $120,300 annually.  This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).  If you are selected to move forward in our recruitment process, your recruiter will be able to discuss additional details of our total rewards program with you.
