Position: IT Support Specialist

Purpose: The IT Support Technician will provide essential day-to-day technical support, focusing on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining our diverse hardware and software systems. This role requires close collaboration with the IT team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of our IT resources.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline user support, for the day-to-day IT needs across the organization
  • Prioritize and resolve issues related to PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, phone systems, cameras, peripherals and user management.
  • Support and troubleshoot desktop applications including Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and various business applications.
  • Manage procurement, configuration, and inventory of all IT hardware, software and licenses.
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding of users including account management.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for specialized support.
  • Offer occasional on-call after-hours support including on-site or warehouse visits.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the IT operations.

You Bring:

EDUCATIONAL/TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in the IT field with knowledge of PC maintenance, software installation and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Broad knowledge of various devices including PCs, peripherals, phone systems, cameras, multi-function printers, and network devices.
  • Proficiency with Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Azure AD, Group Policy, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Powershell or Python scripting experience is a plus

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, ABILITY:

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Proven planning, documenting and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete projects from user request to implementation.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to learn new technologies and systems
  • Strong commitment and work ethic.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
